Police in Queenstown are still appealing for information relating to a smash-and-grab incident in Beach St early on Saturday.

Intelligence analyst Constable Sean Drader has released still images from a security camera near the Jade Factory, which was targeted for the second time in just over a month.

The latest theft occurred about 4am when a male offender smashed the front window of the Jade Factory, removing a distinctive jade statue depicting eight horses on a detachable wooden base.

The statue is about 30cm by 40cm, weighing about 10kg and worth almost $10,000.

Const Drader said the same store was targeted in January, but it was not clear if the same person was responsible.

In that incident, the offender broke a window next to Cow Lane.

"That person hit two holes in the window with a pipe and stole a jade turtle."

The police would like to hear from anyone with information relating to the thefts (03 441-1600).
