Brother/sister duo Broods return to Dunedin next week to headline OUSA's Re-Orientation line-up for 2016.

Formed in early 2013, Caleb and Georgia Nott started working as Broods with Lorde producer Joel Little, and were quickly signed with major American record label Capitol Records.

Since then, they've released a parade of notable hit singles, most recently Free, a heavy industrial-styled pop song from sophomore album Conscious, which was released in June and has racked up millions of plays online.

The pair are also bringing young producer October with them.

The Wellington musician has been making waves recently with her powerful production and hook laden razor-sharp songwriting.

Her Switchblade EP is out now on iTunes and Spotify, and is the perfect soundtrack to late nights and early adult disenchantment.

FAREWELL PERFORMANCE

Auckland post-punk trio God Bows to Math is visiting Dunedin for one final show this weekend, before the various band members depart for worldly adventures, leaving the future of the band in doubt.

Taking its name from San Pedro's Minutemen and a track from the iconic 1984 album Double Nickels on the Dime, God Bows to Math is well-versed in the punk aesthetic: they're noisy, angsty, clever, ferocious and darkly melodic in equal measure.

The band has more than 10 pummelling releases to its name, and has completed many a DIY tour of New Zealand, so it'll be sad to no longer have them as a fixture on our musical landscape.

"We decided to play one last show in Dunedin before we no longer live in the same hemisphere,'' the band said via Facebook.

"We've had so many amazing times there and it seems like the perfect place to have our last ever NZ show! We might get emotional.''

The band are also reportedly putting the final touches on a new release that will be out very soon.

The band's previous full-length release was the politically charged Brighter Future in April last year.

For the group's final show, the thunderous Idiot Prayer and darkwave duo Strange Harvest will play in support.

RUFFHOUSE CREW IS BACK

After hosting a massive six-hour stage takeover performance on the Cellar Stage at Rhythm and Vines last summer, the Ruffhouse crew is back with a South Island tour touching down in Dunedin and Christchurch.

A collaborative project of six DJs from around the country, the crew plays a mix of genres, including drum and bass, house, dubstep, glitch and trap music, and will take over Re:Fuel on Friday, July 22, keeping the party vibes going until 3am.
