Seven people were injured in two separate crashes in Otago this afternoon.
Five people were injured when a 4WD and ute crashed on State Highway 90 between Tapanui and Raes Junction about 5pm.
A St John spokeswoman said the vehicles crashed in "very icy conditions''.
A person sustained serious injuries and was flown to Southland Hospital.
Another four people sustained moderate to minor injuries.
Earlier, two people were flown to Dunedin Hospital after sustaining injuries in a crash on Morrisons-Kyeburn Rd (State Highway 85) at Round Hill, about 3pm.
A St John spokeswoman said one person was in a serious condition and the other was in a moderate condition.
