Thieves are targeting Dunedin homes in daylight, including making off with a boat.
Senior Sergeant Liz Waru, of Dunedin, said property has been stolen from three places in the south of the city in daylight hours between 5pm on Friday and 5pm yesterday.
A 5m-long boat and trailer was stolen from Rewa St in the suburb of Musselburgh. The namless boat had been in a garage, Snr Sgt Waru said.
Two bicycles - a woman's and child's - were stolen from the front porch of a house in Marlow St, also in Musselburgh. The child's bike was found dumped "a few houses down''.
A sheet set was stolen from a clothesline in Council St in St Kilda.
Meanwhile, three burglaries were reported in North Dunedin between 3am on Saturday to 12.30pm yesterday.
A cellphone and about $20 in coins were stolen from cars parked in driveways in Frame St and Carlyle St in North East Valley.
Someone attempted to jemmy a window at a Forth St home, but nothing was taken, Snr Sgt Waru said.
