Police are investigating the theft of a ute near Dunedin Airport that was later was found in the Southland town of Mataura.
The Nissan Navara was reported stolen from a Maungatua Rd property in suburb of Woodside between 5.05pm and 5.15pm yesterday.
Senior Sergeant Liz Waru, of Dunedin, said the ute was located by police at the Caltex service station in Mataura.
A dog unit couldn't track those involved in the theft.
Police would be checking CCTV footage from the service station, Snr Sgt Waru said.
They have appealed to the public for help in locating anyone connected with the theft.
Northeast Valley car break-ins
Police are looking for two men in relation to several cars broken into in North Rd, Northeast Valley, last night.
Snr Sgt Waru said the men were reported to police by a member of the public and were following a line of inquiry.
