Opoho School year 6 pupil Sebastian Cumming (10, left), year 4 pupil Isabelle Gazzard (8) and their classmates dressed up for "Freaky Friday'' to raise money for Fijians who were left homeless after Cyclone Winston hit late last month.
The fundraiser was Isabelle's idea - she was listening to the radio one morning and the announcers "were telling how many people were homeless''.
"I thought to raise some money by having a 'Freaky Friday','' she said.
Donations came from pupils and teachers who decided to participate.
Isabelle was not sure exactly how much money they had raised "but the bucket is really heavy'', she said.
Later in the day, the school said it had raised $277.40 on the day.
