The Wingatui racing community will be represented by two runners in the group 1 weight-for-age classic at Otaki on Saturday.
The Diamond One had been aimed at this race since her win inthe White Robe Lodge Handicapon February 6 and the Claire Anderton-trained mare was joined by Tommy Tucker on her tripnorth yesterday.
Tommy Tucker's co-trainer, Brian Anderton, said there was a "change of plans'' and the horse's connections had decided to tackle the 1600m feature.
"He's got to a bad space in the weights and it's a good race,'' Anderton said.
"We weren't going to go, because we thought it was just two weeks after his race here, but it endedup being three weeks, so he was able to get over [his last run].''
The Diamond One and Tommy Tucker ran the quinella in the White Robe Lodge, and Tommy Tucker almost hauled in the mare, despite carrying 60kg.
Anderton said Tommy Tucker was going up for just the Otaki run. The gelding was escorted north by Ryan Anderton, and Chris Johnson will take the ride on Saturday.
