Where are the littered places?

Mosgiel Taieri Community Board members are set to ''muck in'' and want suggestions on littered areas in the catchment in dire need of cleaning up.

Board member Sarah Nitis said it wanted suggestions from the community on littered areas in need of tidying.

The cleanup was part of a Keep Dunedin Beautiful competition, in which community board members collected rubbish in their catchment as part of an awareness period from September 12.

''It's a great opportunity for the board to contribute to the community, so we're looking forward to putting our gloves on and mucking in and give the other community boards a run for their money,'' she said.

Email suggestions on areas to clean up to sarah.nitis@gmail.com.

The Otago Peninsula Community Board won the competition last year.

At a Saddle Hill Community Board meeting on Thursday, members planned to help tidy up the grounds of Riding for the Disabled in Fairfield, board chairman Scott Weatherall said.

''Rather than a clean of a public place, we are going to support one of our community organisations.''

The public were welcome to participate and a date in September was being finalised for the work.
