Fire drums and prizes are being used to encourage people to take part in the Port FM Midwinter Swim at Friendly Bay in Oamaru tomorrow.
The annual event is raising money for the Oamaru Rowing Club and organisers are encouraging Oamaru residents to challenge themselves, brave the cold and support the club.
Prizes for the best-dressed individual, best-dressed team and oldest and youngest entrants are to be won, as well as spot prizes.
Registrations are at 2pm and the swim at 2.30pm.
Entry will be by gold coin donation.
