Dunedin City councillor Lee Vandervis has apologised for ''loudness'' over two code of conduct complaints and says he will ensure it does not happen again.
Speaking to the Otago Daily Times after a code of conduct committee yesterday heard two complaints about him behaving ''aggressively'', Cr Vandervis accepted his loudness could be ''quite upsetting'' to some people.
''I didn't realise at the time perhaps how loud I was. I can get loud on occasion, especially when people aren't listening.''
In an effort to not upset people, he would no longer go to the audit and risk subcommittee - where he was accused of being aggressive towards the independent chairwoman - and make his complaints to chief executive Dr Sue Bidrose by email rather than in person.
These two steps would ''more'' importantly stop him from being the subject of further ''political back-stabbing'', he said.
