The ''Big Wheels Day'', introduced last year as a fundraiser for the Weston Playcentre, will be run on a later date this year.
Organisers have opted to move it from April to either October or November, to avoid clashing with other events and to ensure the Oamaru Racecourse venue is available.
Last year, hundreds of people, particularly families with children, bought tickets to ride on vehicles to which they would not normally have access.
These included concrete, fertiliser and fire trucks, diggers, tractors and a police car.
