The finishing touches are being put on the newest fast-food outlet before its opening early next month.
Yesterday contractors were putting up the sign and installing the drive-through intercom, while job applicants were being interviewed inside the still-to-be-completed restaurant.
Wendy's NZ chief executive Danielle Lendich said the plan was to open the restaurant on March 9.
About 40 people had been employed, after 150 applications were received and about 90 people interviewed.
Another 10 to 15 employees were needed.
''Before it opens, we need to train the locals but we [will] also bring a large support team of experienced people from around the country to help us,'' Ms Lendich said.
