An unconscious person has been pulled out of the sea in Lower Hutt.
A police spokesperson says a member of the public found the person unconscious at the south end of Eastbourne this morning.
Police were called at 9.24am and at least four units attended as well as Fire and Emergency and ambulance.
The spokesperson says the person was being airlifted by helicopter to Wellington hospital.
