A traffic blitz at the intersection of Crawford and Jetty Sts resulted in 15 infringement notices being issued in 45 minutes.
Senior Sergeant Darryl Lennane said the traffic operation, between 8.15am and 9am, targeted those not complying with traffic signals and those using cellphones.
''It's [disappointing] if we are seeing those sorts of numbers,'' he said.
''For a 45-minute period that's quite a lot of infringements.''
Two motorists were ticketed for using cellphones and 13 for failing to comply with traffic signals.
Motorists needed to pay greater attention while on the road, especially during peak traffic periods.
''Both these issues are a concern,'' he said.
''People are running red lights and people are still not getting the message about using their cellphones when driving.''
