Winner of Junk Kouture Festival of Creativity and Circularity world designer of the year Clodagh Ramsey, 17, from Wilso’s Hospital School in County Westmeath, Ireland, poses in her dress called "Aquacultural", an organic waste design she made from about 2000 mussel shells championing sustainable food production, in Dublin, Ireland, yesterday.

Junk Kouture is open to 12- to 19-year-olds and challenges young people from Ireland, the UK, Italy, France, the United States and the UAE to design, upcycle and create high-end couture fashion from recycled junk, the organisation’s website says.
