Two Dunedin men have been arrested in relation to allegedly importing ecstasy and ketamine.
Southern District crime manager Detective Inspector Shona Low said a 23-year-old man and 30-year-old man were arrested as a result of a joint operation between Southern District Police and New Zealand Customs which began in mid-January.
The two imported the class B controlled drug ecstasy and the class C controlled drug ketamine to local Dunedin addresses.
Two search warrants were executed in Dunedin yesterday afternoon where police located items of interest.
A 23-year-old was arrested at Queenstown Airport and a 30-year-old was arrested in Christchurch.
The 30-year-old will appear in the Christchurch District Court and the 23-year-old will appear in the Queenstown District Court today charged with multiple importations.
Police planned to oppose bail, Det Insp Low said. — APL
