Foodbanks across the city are in better shape thanks to the community. The annual Christmas Food Bank Can Appeal in December helped deliver nearly 1000 banana boxes of non-perishable food items to local food banks.
Co-ordinator and senior firefighter Aimee Taylor said it was a "great haul" that was almost on par with last year, only about a few boxes short, which was understandable considering the cost of living challenges.
She thanked all volunteers and everyone who supported the drive. — APL
