Police are investigating an alleged attempted kidnapping in Sydenham earlier this month.
Detective James Bourne said the incident occurred about 3pm on Thursday, January 2 when a man approached a person on the northern end of Tennyson St and allegedly tried to pull them into a vehicle.
A suspect was arrested last Friday and has been charged with attempted kidnapping. He is scheduled to appear in the Christchurch District Court on Thursday.
“As part of our ongoing enquiries, we are keen to hear from anyone who was in the Tennyson Street area between 2:50pm and 3:10pm on the day of the incident,” Det Bourne said.
