East of Eden before filming began yesterday watched by Waitaki District Mayor Gary Kircher and members of the cast and crew.
Filming for the adaptation of the John Steinbeck novel of the same name began in Oamaru yesterday.
Crew were hard at work with lighting and camera equipment in the Victorian Precinct while many locals were involved as extras.
Mr Kircher also welcomed the crew to Oamaru.
