An appeal has gone out for school uniform and jacket donations from The Shoe Booth founder Maddison Booth.
It is the fourth year the the free uniform giveaway, which takes place between 10am and 1pm on January 19, has been held.
"This year we’re doing free school uniforms, free jackets and gym shoes for all Southland families."
While there was a good supply of gym shoes continuing to flow in via the collection bins at city businesses, there was still a big need for a supply of boys’ and girls’ garments for all the region’s schools, she said.
Donations can be dropped off at Age Concern, 50 Forth St, from Monday, January 13.
"There’s only one rule — you must bring your young one with you [on January 19]," Miss Booth said.
