A primary school teacher from New Zealand flirted with Taylor Swift on the Graham Norton Show.

Ben Wombwell, from Dunedin, was a guest in the British talkshow host's red chair segment in the latest episode of the top-rating show.

But Wombwell found himself getting special attention from Swift after introducing himself.

"Kiwis are the best. Where is he? Where can we find him?" said the American singer before being told to "settle down" by Norton.

Wombwell mock-adjusted his collar after hearing Swift's quip.

His story, about being accidentally grabbed in the crotch by a girl, was deemed good enough to not get tipped out of Norton's infamous red chair.

Also on the show, Swift gave funnyman John Cleese a taste of her stern side when he poked fun at women.

The two stars were bonding over their love of cats when the Monty Python star criticised her pet, Olivia Benson, asking, "How did it have the accident?" before adding, "That's the funniest looking cat I've ever seen", when Cleese told host Norton why he preferred cats to dogs.

He said, "They're unpredictable and cussed -- like women.

"Swift shot him a stern look and said, "Ooh, we don't wanna do that ... "
