Drunk nabbed after making wee mistake

A Mosgiel man's broken seal was his downfall when he was caught by police after urinating at a petrol station.

Acting senior sergeant Simon Reay said a member of the public reported a 37-year-old man to police at 7:50pm last night.

The man had been kicked out of a Mosgiel pub for being "too intoxicated".

He left the pub and drove away in a silver BMW, Sgt Reay said.

"Police observed the vehicle at [Mobil Mosgiel], Factory Rd, and a male matching the driver description urinating on the forecourt fence."

Police then stopped the man and asked him to undertake a breath-test, but he refused to do so.

"His behaviour was volatile to attending police, frequently changing from calm to aggressive and threatening."

He then allegedly refused to provide a blood specimen and had his licence suspended.

He was due to appear in the Dunedin District Court next week.
