Surf's up

While Dunedin and the Clutha District are dealing with a state of emergency after heavy rain caused flooding for much of Otago. 

Other areas made light of the rain, even revelled in it. 

As the MetService issued a red heavy rain alert for North Otago, Dunedin and coastal Clutha, the "surf was up" for Kakanui locals Nigel Ryeburn and his son Otis, 10, who made the most of the heavy rainfall at Awamoa Park in Oamaru yesterday.
