Variety of art on show

This month, a group of accomplished local artists will stage their 12th annual exhibition at the Dunedin Community Gallery, in Princes St.

The Art in October exhibition features works in a wide range of mediums and styles — from oil and acrylic on canvas to watercolour and printmaking. Styles range from realism to hints of cubism and abstract.

The artist group gathers regularly at The Valley Project rooms in North East Valley to prepare for this event, as well as exhibitions in galleries around Otago, including a show hosted by the Otago Art Society.

Group members enjoy painting together and being able to share ideas and critique each others’ works as they progress.

They are looking forward to the exhibition, from October 9-20, which represents the culmination of a year of work.

All of the art in the exhibition is for sale.
