Plea for fairness, honesty

A poem inspired by Andy Mulligan's novel Trash.

Being mean isn't good, nor is corruption.

If everyone did it then the world would be an eruption.

Siphoning money. Isn't that just stealing?

If only this poor world wasn't in such a state, then all our wounds would begin healing.

Poverty is a matter that is hard to define.

In two simple words, it is tough for some people to get across the start line.

What I mean by this, is a matter of words,

The world that we live in, is split into thirds.

To make matters worse we don't all agree,

The police in New Zealand aren't like the ones in Behala you see.

So, getting beaten up, that isn't fair,

To swallow from what's happened, the only thing we can do is get in a group prayer.

Although it may seem it, this world isn't perfect,

But the only thing we can do is respect it.

Although this is cheesy and it may not make sense,

All of these link in today's present tense.
