Seventy objections from Waitaki residents caused two Timaru businessmen to withdraw their application for a new liquor store in Oamaru.
The application from Nirvair and Mandeep Singh was withdrawn last month before a Waitaki district licensing committee hearing could be held.
The applicants already own a Bottle-O in Timaru and had hoped to open a store in the North End on Thames Highway.
Meanwhile, the Riviera Cinema Ltd has made application to the licensing committee for an on-licence.
