Four Otago conservation projects have been granted $475,000 to help further their work, Associate Conservation Minister Nicky Wagner announced today.
At Glenfalloch, on Otago Peninsula this morning Ms Wagner announced the Otago Penginsula Biodiversity Group would receive $135,000 towards its work removing possums from the peninsula from the Community Conservation Partnership Fund.
Then at Orokonui Ecosanctuary the associate minister announced $278,000 in funding for Orokonui Ecosanctuary itself and $52,000 for the Landscape Connections Trust which wanted to enhance land around the ecosanctuary.
The Herbert Heritage Group was awarded $9000 towards the Waianakarua River Mouth Wetlands Development Project.
The Community Conservation Partnership Fund provides $26 million over four years to community organisations doing natural heritage and recreation projects.
