Lake Edge Apartments, on the north-facing top row of the Lake’s Edge neighbourhood above the Hilton Hotel, comprises three luxury apartments, each on their own floor, along with double garages for each on the ground floor.
"A lot of people when they’ve built units over the years, they’re three storeys, at least, with lots of stairs," says local Bayleys agent Grant Coburn, who’s marketing the apartments alongside his wife, Deborah.
"This is kind of more like a Gold Coast-style property where they take up an entire floor, which I think for a prospective purchaser should be pretty appealing."
Each apartment includes three lake-facing bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, while the kitchen and dining areas feature floor-to-ceiling glazing opening on to balconies.
The first-level and second-level residences, each about 284sqm, are priced at $3.9million and $4.2m, respectively — the latter reflecting the better views as you go higher — while the penthouse, which is about 300sqm, with a larger balcony, is $4.5m.
Coburn says the apartments not only have amazing views but are also "extremely private".
The double garages — up to 67sqm for the penthouse — also include drying rooms, storage lockers and internal access to the lift and stairs.
He notes another attraction is you’re close to Hilton Hotel and its amenities, including a water taxi service to the CBD.
The units also come with visitor accommodation consent, so there’s significant earning potential when you’re not in residence.
Designed by Weir Architecture, of Christchurch, the complex will be built by Scott Construction, which also owns the 500sqm site.
"They’re one of the South Island’s prominent high-end builders," Coburn says.
He points out the company also built the striking cedar-clad Lakeside Villas, off Frankton Rd.
