Brzaen burglars have stolen bedding, televisions and a microwave from two Dunedin motel units.
Rear aluminium windows were removed to gain entry into two units at Adrian Motel, St Kilda, on Tuesday night.
''They were very cheeky because there was an occupied room in between the two rooms that have been done,'' motel owner/operator Janice McDowall said.
A 32-inch LCD TV was removed from each room, with a microwave, a painting and all the bedding also taken from the units.
''Everything from the mattress topper pad right up to rolled-up towels and cushions on top of the bed ... layers of linen; mattress protector, waterproof protector, sheets, duvet inner, top covers and blankets.
''They have cleaned out the lot.''
She estimated the items were worth about $3000. The theft would be covered by insurance.
Police believe the burglars may have gained access over a rear fence via an empty section.
Anyone who saw people acting suspiciously in the area on Tuesday night is urged to contact Dunedin police on 471-4800 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800-555-111.
