One lucky Lotto winner woke up $30 million richer yesterday after winning a life-changing Powerball first division.
The winner, from Carterton, won a total prize of $30.16m in Saturday night's live Lotto draw, Newshub reported.
The winning ticket was sold on MyLotto to a player in the small town which has a population of fewer than 6000 people.
The prize is made up of $30m from Powerball first division and $166,667 from Lotto first division.
The winner is New Zealand's fourth Powerball multimillionaire in 2024, and the win comes just one month after a $12.3m Powerball prize was won by a couple in Otago.
The pair said they are now lucky enough to be able to fulfil their dreams.
Five other lucky Lotto players will also be celebrating after winning $166,667 with Lotto first division in the live Lotto draw.
The winning tickets were sold at Waimauku Minimart in Waimauku, Pacific Superette in Auckland, Pak’nSave Ormiston in Auckland, and on MyLotto to two players from Waikato.
Meanwhile, Strike Four rolled over and will be $800,000 on Wednesday.
