The 7yr-old mare was born just four weeks apart from Shya, the daughter of part-owner Jason Enright after whom the pacer is named.
But Enright and his parents, Leo (LJ) and Gaye, are used to waiting for the progeny of Victoria Globe to taste race-day success.
Half-brother Yokozuna was 7 when he won on debut at Forbury Park in April 2010, and went on to win eight of his 17 starts.
A hole in a tendon three and-a-half years ago forced the Enrights to put the daughter of Grinfromeartoear in a paddock to recuperate.
The Westwood Beach team of Jonny Cox and Amber Hoffman started working Shya three months ago and the beach training took the pressure of Shya's troublesome limbs.
''They had only given her a 1 or 2% chance of racing,'' Hoffman said.
''She goes all right but we just needed to get her around Forbury. Hopefully, there's another win in her.
''We might give her 10 days off. She's had quite a lot of work.''
King Kenny back in winning formGraeme Anderson held his breath for the last 600m as King Kenny returned to the winner's circle after a year away when he won the Fergus Mathieson Memorial handicap trot.
A suspensory injury sidelined King Kenny after a stellar 2012-13 season, and his four starts back this season have been a mixture of promising runs and frustrating errors.
Anderson tried a few tricks with the 6yr-old, including sending him to Roxburgh trainers Geoff and Jude Knight for remedial work on the tendon.
''He was up at the Knights for a while and he's as sound as he's ever been, so full credit to them for that.''
Faith in Norman rewardedShane Forgie's faith in Tahakopa trainer Brian Norman was quickly rewarded when The Sweedish Filly won at her third start from new quarters in the opening race.
Forgie, of Dunedin, bought the half-sister to The Fiery Ginga a month ago and decided to place the Revenue 4yr-old with Norman.
''I've had a few over the years with Brian. He's good with the trotters,'' Forgie said.
''She's trotted well every time since he's had her, so he's sorted her out.''
Dexter Dunn continued his staggering record in recent meetings at Forbury Park, reining home six winners from nine drives, taking his season tally to 153 wins.
But while Dunn was dominating the drivers' challenge, Brad Williamson rescued Rory McIlwrick from a difficult situation when the bit broke on Rome during race 2.
McIlwrick was left with almost no control over the 8yr-old from the 1000m mark. Williamson was able to take hold of Rome's gear from the 400m mark, helping McIlwrick to pull the horse up.
