The truck was heading out to deliver concrete when it slid off the road on a bend and hit a bank, about 7.30am.
The bowl on the truck split, spilling some concrete.
The driver was not injured, but was taken to Oamaru Hospital to be checked.
A crane later lifted the truck back on to the road.
