Dad's Army will visit Mosgiel this month when the Taieri Dramatic Society presents its production of the popular stage show.
Based on the BBC television series of the same name, the Dad's Army theatre production comprises adaptations of some of the 80 television episodes.
About 26 local actors and actresses are involved in the Taieri production, to be staged at the Mosgiel Coronation Hall.
Six performances, including two matinees, will be held between April 30 and May 4.
Promoter and performer David Thomson, who plays Lance-corporal Jones, said Dad's Army was a show for everyone.
''It's for young and old. I grew up with it as a kid and I think most kids will enjoy it,'' he said.
''There's a lot of over-the-top humour and it's been a lot of fun doing it.''
Mr Thomson said the society worked ''for quite some time'' on the show.
Rehearsals started in February.
He said the show used episodes featuring female characters alongside the mainly male military cast.
• Tickets for the show cost $27.50 and can be bought from iTICKET, Dunedin Goldsmiths and Paper Plus Mosgiel.
