Much like the Hollywood star’s character in Mission Impossible, participants in the Tūhura Otago Museum’s latest attraction can attempt to navigate their way through a maze of lazer beams.
The Laser Maze, set up inside the H D Skinner Annex building, was an add-on to admission tickets for the Science Centre or the Planetarium.
Museum marketing manager Charlie Buchan said it took only a few minutes to attempt the maze, but participants could go as many times as they liked.
"You have to dodge the lasers like you’re in Charlie’s Angels or robbing a bank."
"We had our first lot of kids through and they seem to really enjoy it. It’s a different offering the museum can provide the public," he said.
The museum would give out weekly prizes to participants with the fastest time getting through the maze.
If you complete the maze fast enough, your name makes it on the weekly leaderboard.
"It makes it competitive which Kiwi’s seem to love," Mr Buchan said.
Annual pass members of the museum get free entry to the activity.
The Laser Maze would be running until the February 25.
