Podcast series ‘an auditory wonder’

Dunedin-based wildlife film-maker and podcast producer Karthic SS has launched a second series of popular podcast Tune Into Nature, described by online field guide Wild Media Journal as "an auditory wonder".

Each episode focuses one New Zealand wildlife species and features interviews from experts, rangers, wildlife biologists and kaitiaki about what they are doing to improve the species’ prospects for survival.

Karthic talks with the people working in the harshest terrains, from mountains to wetlands, in the interests of some of New Zealand’s rarest creatures.

"By using nature soundscapes and recording interviews outdoors, in the wilds, I hope to give the listeners an experience of being out in nature," he said.

"I hope listeners will connect with nature and do their best to care for our only home."

Tune Into Nature is made possible through funding from Te Tahua Taiao Ngā Taonga Lottery and Environment and Heritage Fund and supported by the department of science communication at the University of Otago.

The show airs every second Saturday at 9am on OAR 105.4FM and 1575AM and podcasts are available from oar.org.nz and all major podcast platforms.
