Otago beat Waikato 3-2 in the morning session of the second day of the Freyberg Masters tournament at the Poverty Bay club yesterday.
Richard Anderson and Chris Snow each had 3 and 2 wins for Otago at the top of the order, and Andrew Hobbs won 1-up at No 3.
In the afternoon session, Otago had their third tie of the tournament, against Northland. Anderson and Hobbs won again, and Rodney Krahenbring grabbed a half.
