The winners will be announced from 27 finalists across nine categories at the Top 200 awards dinner on December 6.
Mr Limmer, who is joining wine producer and exporter Indevin Group, lines up for chief executive of the year alongside Vittoria Shortt from ASB Bank and Grant Webster from Tourism Holdings.
Mr Hewett, a well-known agribusiness leader, is a finalist for chairperson of the year, alongside David Carter (Beca) and Scott St John (Fisher & Paykel Healthcare).
The finalists for company of the year are Infratil, Tourism Holdings and Xero.
In a statement, Deloitte chief executive Mike Horne said the organisations and leaders recognised had navigated their way through an unpredictable landscape, amid an unsettled economic climate, and emerged strong and more adaptable than ever.
"The Deloitte Top 200 gives us an opportunity to celebrate them, their ongoing resilience, and agility to succeed as they create a lasting impact that will contribute to a better future for their communities," Mr Horne said.
One emerging theme this year was the need for long-term thinking on how to deal with transforming technology, including the emergence of artificial intelligence.
