One person was airlifted to hospital Friday following a serious incident while backcountry skiing near Treble Cone.
Helicopters Otago owner Graeme Gale said the person had a "serious ski field injury", although it was not life threatening.
They were flown to Christchurch Hospital Friday afternoon.
