New Otago Daily Times’ business writer Steve Davie has come full circle.

When Allied Press was founded in 1979, Mr Davie was writing for the Evening Star before moving to the Otago Daily Times and then the Midweek and Weekender newspapers.

He then moved to Townsville, Australia, where he wrote agricultural and business stories for the North Queensland Register, the largest rural newspaper of the time in Australia.

Returning to New Zealand in 1983, he launched into a radio and television broadcasting career, co-mingled with a 30-year contribution to the charitable sector.

He also advised some leading sportsmen and women, including Danyon Loader and Lesley Rumball (nee Nicol).

Mr Davie has retained his passion for writing and his interest in the local business community.

He can be contacted at stevedavie@xtra.co.nz.
