Smartphone owners are set for a frightening experience on Halloween - but only if they happen to be walking in Oamaru's Victorian Precinct.
Local photographer and graphic designer Derek Golding says he is organising a ghost tour utilising ''augmented reality'' technology to enable people to view ''digital ghosts'', via their phones, around Harbour St. Mr Golding said an app, available from his Golding Arts NZ Facebook page, downloaded to a smartphone, which could be done via scanning an event flyer,
would enable smartphone cameras to ''see'' images not visible to the naked eye, accompanied by ''demonic voices''.
The free tour will take place on October 31.
