A judge says a Dunedin man may "need to get some help" after he was caught masturbating in The Warehouse car park.
Alec Bradley Hewison (23) appeared in the Dunedin District Court yesterday following an indecent act he performed in his vehicle on January 15.
At 3.55pm a member of the public spotted the man sitting in the driver’s seat of his Ford Falcon as he exposed his genitals and began masturbating.
"You are a young man of otherwise good character and disposition," Judge Emma Smith said.
"You have provided no explanation of your offending and still can’t today."
Hewison was sentenced to 40 hours’ community work and ordered to pay court costs of $130.
The man was given a warning by Judge Smith to control himself and not repeat this behaviour.
"If you have some difficulties, you may need to get some help."
