Wingatui racecourse groundsmen are keeping busy ahead of November's Melbourne Cup race day.
Chief executive Andre Klein said turf in front of the grandstands had been levelled for corporate tents at Dunedin's's biggest race-day event.
A mound of dirt, spotted by a Taieri Times reader recently, was a result of the levelling and would be used as fill on the north bend of the track.
It still required a little filling following the course's reconstruction several years ago.
It was not clear when that would take place, but it was handy to have a dirt stockpile available for those sorts of jobs, Mr Klein said.
