The result of an election for trustees on the Waitaki Power Trust, which owns the power lines company Network Waitaki, will be known early this week.
Votes closed on Friday and were counted on Saturday. Eight candidates were nominated for four of the five positions on the trust, double the number who stood for election last year.
Normally, three trustees retire each year and can offer themselves for re-election, but the trust deed states if a trustee is appointed, they must stand down at the next election.
Jock Webster was appointed to the board of trustees during the year to replace the late Bill McKerrow and had to stand down and fight for re-election.
