Gay Ski week would likely again bring more than 1000 people to the resort, Mrs Whitewoods said.
The event begins on Saturday and runs until September 7.
This is the second year Mrs Whitewoods and her wife, Mandy, have organised the event, and the third time they have been involved in the event.
Included in this year's programme is Queens on the Lake - a dance party on TSS Earnslaw, which Mrs Whitewoods was particularly looking forward to.
Events varied from year to year to ''keep people coming back for something new''.
A ''huge amount of Australians'' were expected, and Mrs Whitewoods had also heard from people in Canada, the United States of America and Brazil who would be attending, as well as ''a lot more New Zealanders''.
''We had 1000 people throughout the week last year, so I would say we would easily match that.''
Cardrona Alpine Resort will again be the primary mountain meeting point for the week's participants and at night a range of events will be on offer in Queenstown.
Mrs Whitewoods encouraged locals to ''come along and join in''.
''It is a gay event as such ... but it is just a fun event to break down barriers and boundaries.''
A gay wedding package is up for grabs during the week in association with the Queenstown Wedding Association.
Entries for the wedding package close next Tuesday.
