New Zealand Sculpture (2013) and other Carrera sculptures by Martin Selman, of Auckland, coming to Milford Galleries Queenstown have been praised for both celebrating and subverting the ancient artform.

The Massey University and Eastern Institute of Technology graduate and tutor in Switzerland and New Zealand introduces his new collection in the Church Lane gallery in a preview on Friday from 5.30pm.

Selman will be joined by fellow Auckland artist Linda Holloway whose complex paintings are said to draw together seemingly disparate elements to create a ''landscape of the mind''.

Holloway gained her master of arts degree in painting from Elam School of Fine Arts in 2004. She has exhibited regularly over the last decade and has been a finalist in the Wallace Art Awards.
