The Otago Nuggets were thrashed 115-67 by a fired-up Southland Sharks outfit in Invercargill tonight.
No-one, not even the weather man, who gets just about everything right these days, could have predicted such a one-sided encounter.
The Nuggets have been the form team in the league but produced their worst offensive and defensive display of the year.
Brian Conklin led the scoring for the Sharks with 27 points and Reuben Te Rangi posted 19 points. Akeem Wright top-scored for the Nuggets with 14 points.
The Nuggets shot a woeful 32% from the field and 36% from the free throw. That terrible statistics only goes some way towards explaining how they managed to lose by 48-points. The rest is a mystery.
