Green efforts on a roll

The Otago Museum's focus on sustainability and being ''environmentally friendly'' now includes even the toilet paper used at the museum.

In a recently tabled report, museum organisers noted that ''responsible operations'' continued to be a priority, and that cleaning chemicals used at the museum had been swapped for ''more environmentally friendly chemicals''.

The museum's toilet paper had also been replaced by ''more sustainable sugar cane-based paper'', at no extra cost to the museum, the report said.
