Ms Wensley confirmed yesterday she had decided to concentrate full time on her mayoral campaign and had taken unpaid leave for the duration of the campaign.
She confirmed if she won the mayoralty she would be a full-time mayor.
Startup Queenstown Lakes chairman david Wallace confirmed yesterday Ms Wensley had talked to the organisation last week and they had come to an agreement that she would stand aside.
Ms Wensley had worked for Startup Queenstown Lakes on a part-time basis and had been with the organisation since February 2020.
She left the position last Friday.
Ms Wensley is joined in the mayoralty race by Alistair Angus, John Mitchell, Glyn Lewers, Daniel Shand and Neeta Shetty.
Voting opens on Friday and finishes on October 8.
