The Dunstan High School year 11 pupil has been growing it for "two years and two weeks" but tomorrow, he is giving it up for a worthy cause.
Jaedyn is cutting off his mullet to raise funds for 9-year-old Maddox Gale, an Alexandra boy undergoing cancer treatment in Christchurch.
Maddox is the younger brother of Jaedyn’s friend Dylan Gale.
Originally intending to cut off his mullet at the end of the rugby season and donate his hair to be made into wigs, Jaedyn decided his haircut was a chance to help Maddox.
"Well I always wanted to do something with my hair," he said, and figured that with Maddox having cancer, he could expand his plan to help out a friend in need.

His dad Ben McKenzie joked it was "pure relief‘" to say goodbye to the mullet.
"No, it’s a pretty cool thing because he stopped and thought about it — I’m pretty proud," he said.
A fundraising auction and night of entertainment for Maddox is being held at the Alexandra District Club, where three hairdressers from Tu Meke Hairdressing will cut off Jaedyn’s mullet as the main event.
Tickets cost $20 and are available from the district club before tomorrow night.
As for Jaedyn’s plans after the big chop?
"To grow another one."
