The dozen or so preschoolers were among thousands of Catholic children
celebrating Catholic Schools Day yesterday. Catholic Diocese of Dunedin director Tony Hanning said the day was a time for Catholic schools across the country to reflect on how their education had served parents and children for the past 100 to 150 years.
''The Catholic school system's [accomplishments] have been an integral part of the growth and spirit of New Zealand.''
